The Boston Globe talks to home inspectors about one of the scariest things they see all the time–people doing cosmetic repairs to hide major structural flaws in the houses they are trying to sell. Making matters worse, buyers in competitive markets often enter a contract without doing an inspection, leaving them with a mess that isn’t always obvious until they have the keys.
